Inauguration of Navi Mmumbai Chapter
of Cost accountants
Navi Mumbai Chapter of Cost Accountants was inaugurated on 8th
February 2007 at the hands of Mr B. M. Sharma, (CCM, and immediate past Vice
President of ICWAI) and Mr. V. C. Kothari (CCM, ICWAI). Ms Niharika Murthy
started the ceremony with a prayer. About 100 Cost Accountants attended the
ceremony.
Mr Dinesh Jain, Chairman of this new Chapter in his welcome speech
elaborated the history of Professional activity of the Institute at Navi Mumbai
from 1987, firstly setup oral coaching classes for its Students in 1987, then
forming an association (Navi Mumbai Cost & Management Accountants’
Association) in May 2004 with the help of other professional colleague to the
formation of Chapter. He also announced N.V. Rao Memorial Prize Fund in the
memory of late Mr. N.V. Rao, the founder Vice-Chairman of NMCMAA. The target of
this fund is to collect an amount of Rs one lakh within one year. This Fund
will help the poor students pursuing ICWAI course. Mr B.M. Sharma and Mr Dinesh
Jain immediately announced a contribution of Rs 5001/- each.
Mr B. M. Sharma, in his inaugural speech, expressed his confidence
that this Chapter would be the best Chapter in India within a year’s time. Mr.
V. C. Kothari expressed his expectations that this Chapter would help the
society in conserving the resources and reducing wastages. Mr B.D. Soni (Ex
Director (Fin), Lubrizol India Ltd.), in his keynote address, expressed his
expectations that this Chapter would work as a coordinator between Cost
Accountants and Industry as well as the students. Mr H.P. Pradhan (Managing
Director, Pharmaceuticals Coatings Pvt Ltd,) congratulated the office bearers
and the members of the Chapter. Mr S. C. Ghoge (Sr. Director (Public Affairs),
Sonofi- Aventis group) presented a brief introduction to Pharma Industry from
Management Accounting perspective.
The Function was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr
B. N. Sapkal, Secretary, NMCMAA. Mr. M.K. Narayanswamy anchored the ceremony.
The ceremony was held at Navi Mumbai Sports Association Hall,
Vashi, and was followed by a dinner.
